蒋女士走在大街上绝对引人注目,因为她有一头长约1.9米的秀发。蒋女士想把长发卖掉,用这笔钱来捐助失学儿童。
蒋女士家住昌平南口镇,今年43岁,这头长发已留了15年。长发披散开来拖在地板上,比普通人的身高还长。由于头发太长,蒋女士平时把头发编成两根麻花辫子,盘起来塞在帽子里。
别看长发飘飘挺招人羡慕,但平时洗头、梳头却要费一番工夫。蒋女士说,由于家里的脸盆不够大,洗头必须去浴室里才行。
提起留长发的初衷,蒋女士说是受母亲的影响。“我妈说,作为女人就应留长发,所以我从小就留长发,以前曾留过齐腰长发。”
蒋女士的头发长到齐腰时,曾有人愿出价1000元购买。蒋女士说,她舍不得与自己朝夕相处的头发,婉言谢绝了对方。后来,蒋女士从电视上看到,一些贫困山区的孩子没钱读书,她就和丈夫商量,打算把自己的长发卖了,用这笔钱捐助失学儿童。蒋女士摸着自己的长发说:“对于失学儿童,我能帮多少就算多少吧。”(实习记者李静) 2005-06-12 07:57:01 来源: 北京娱乐信报

A woman with 1.9-metre-long hair hopes to sell her locks to assist poor students, the Beijing Star Daily reports.
The woman surnamed Jiang lives in Changping District of Beijing. She says she was deeply influenced by her mother who believed that women should keep their hair.
The 43-year-old Jiang decided to let her hair grow 15 years ago. Somebody offered her 1,000 yuan (US$120) when her hair reached her waist, but she refused the offer. Now,
however, after she saw television programmes that depicted poor students dropping out of school, she decided to sell her hair to offer some help.

Two-meter-long Hair to be Sold
A woman from Beijing's suburb of Changping is selling her hair which is nearly two meters long.
She intends to donate the money to children who are too poor to attend school, after watching a TV documentary about their lives.
Jiang, who is 43 years old, has grown her hair for 15 years. It's now so long that it trails on the ground so she always wears it in braids stuffed under a hat.
She was actually offered one thousand yuan for her hair when it reached waist level, but she refused. She has not disclosed a price for her now floor-length mane.
